| 马耳他大学入学要求
申请本科课程的申请者必须满足马耳他大学入学的一般入学要求。对于特殊的课程，申请人亦须满足特殊课程的额外需求。 一般的入门标准如下: (a) 大学入学考试证书 (b)高中及同等学历，通过英文，马耳他语及数学考试。 非马耳他籍申请人可以提供被招生办公室许可的语言成绩。自2018年，如果是来自英文国家的学生，需要提供一份非英文的语言成绩。 对申请医学专业的学生，自2015年以后，所有非马耳他籍的申请者，需要得到高中及同等学历，并通过马耳他大学的考试才可以录取。 入学考试证书(http://www.um.edu.mt/matsec/regulations)由六个科目。如果学生获得44分或更高的分数，包括一门语言、人文学科和科学科目，以及一门名为“知识体系”的学科，就会获得奖励。 如果申请人在马耳他以外进行中学教育，那么马耳他大学将接受相应的资格证书，前提是必须将科目和学年相结合，使其资格与入学证书考试相符。在系统知识某一项中不足，本身并不会影响申请的授理，只要其他的条件能够彼此补足就好。
中国学生录取提示
马大根据每个申请人的具体情况来审理，录取符合条件的国际留学生，但基本规定是国际留学生必须具有在本国可进入大学学习的初步条件，而这种条件与马大录取条件相应。如高中毕业，英文雅思5.5分以上，高中成绩都合格。
特殊课程录取条件
特殊课程录取条件是为确保申请人在申请所选学科时，就已经具备此学科所需的基本知识，以便能够深入学习。
预科
预科是特别为那些不完全具备读本科条件的海外留学生设置的一年课程。大量的英语课程，但学生入学前必须获有国际公认的英语成绩，如雅思至少5.5分或以上。
预科学生在学期开始时，需选择预科之后进入本科学习时所要学的课程。
申请须知
为保证能够在十月入学、申请表必须在5月15日之前寄到国际和欧盟办公室。我们建议申请人最好尽早申请（如在1-3月份）。即便你还没有得到在读学校的毕业证书、英语成绩等，你的申请仍会被审理，并可能在马大收到上述所缺材料之后得到录取通知书。也就是说，中国的高中学生在没有毕业的时候，就可以申请有条件录取通知书，直到条件符合，就可以入学。
申请者须提交下列材料：
－ 申请表2份 － 护照照片2张 － 学历证书公证 － 成绩单公证 － 英语成绩 － 出生公证 － 护照复印件 － 申请费（不退还） － 资信证明（给马耳他驻中国使馆）
马大所有课程都是英语授课，学生需要有良好的英语写作的口语能力。如果母语不是英语，需要提供国际公认的英语水平证明，例如：托福、雅斯、剑桥英语。被录取的最低要求：

The language of instruction at the University of Malta is English. Applicants who have completed their secondary education overseas are obliged to satisfy the University’s English Language requirement by presenting a Secure English Language Test (SELT) result at the required levels.
在马耳他，英语是马耳他大学的教学语言。申请者需要拥有完整的的高中毕业及同等学历外，还要拥有马耳他大学学习所需要必备的英文成绩。

* For Junior College, pre-degree and Foundation courses:
两年制专科，本科学历前期导入课程及预科课程
IELTS: 5.0 in the reading and writing components

TOEFL: Internet-Based Test (iBT): a minimum score of 17 in the reading and writing components
托福网考最低分，读和写的部分不可低于17分。
** For Undergraduate Courses: 本科学习课程
IELTS: no less than 6.0 in Writing and no less than 5.5 in every other element
雅思写不少于6.0，其它不可少于5.5分。
TOEFL: Internet-Based Test (iBT): a writing score of at least 20
托福网考写作不低于20分。
*** For Postgraduate Courses: 研究生课程
IELTS: a minimum of 6.0 in each element 雅思每项不低于6分。
TOEFL: Internet-Based Test (iBT): a writing score of at least 24 托福网考写作最少24分。
**** Cambridge Certificates: a pass at a Grade C or better is required. 剑桥英文，通过C 级或更高。
† Academic IELTS Applicants for all Postgraduate courses offered by the Department of English, Faculty of Arts commencing in October 2014 or later, who are not in possession of a degree deemed comparable, in content and level to the degrees required in Bye-Law 4, by the Faculty Admissions Committee, must present a SELT result with either a writing score of 7.5 (or higher) in the writing element and no less than 6.5 in any other element in IELTS or a writing score of 29 (or higher) in TOEFL (iBT). Applicants may also present a Cambridge English Proficiency Advanced Certificate at Grade C (or higher).
2014年以后，对于申请人文学校的研究生的申请者，需要至少在写作上满足雅思7.5分的成绩，其它各项不低于6.5分水平；对于托福网考，写作不低于29分，最好更高一些。如果申请者提供剑桥英文，应该提供至少C级或更高的英文级别。
TOEFL and IELTS score reports will only be valid if issued within 2 years from the date of commencement of the course at the University of Malta. 托福，雅思的成绩是距离申请日期2年内有效的。
The test result must be obtained by the following dates:-

For admission to courses commencing in October by 30 September

If the test result is not submitted by these dates, applicants will not be admitted to the course even if all other entry requirements are satisfied.
尽管所有材料都准备齐全，而且达到了录取标准，不过如果语言成绩不能按时提供，也不会被录取。
For courses leading to Master's courses by Research, the pass in the Secure English Language Test will be required before commencement of the course.
对于通向研究生的研究型课程，在课程开始前需要提供语言成绩。
Applicants for the Ph.D. programme are required to submit a pass in the Secure English Language Test before commencement of studies.
对于博士学位的申请同样要在课程开始前提供对应的语言成绩。
