In view of the circumstances brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, the University of Malta (UM) has introduced the following concessions in relation to the English Language Requirements for entry to courses commencing in October 2020 only.

鉴于COVID-19大流行带来的情况，马耳他大学（UM）仅就2020年10月开始课程的英语语言要求采取以下让步措施。

• TOEFL iBT Certificate   托福iBT证书

a)       Applicants can now opt to register for a home-based TOEFL iBT test. More information in this regard is available here: https://www.ets.org/s/cv/toefl/at-home/

b)       Applicants sitting for the TOEFL iBT test may present the following scores*:

参加托福iBT考试的申请人要按要求出示以下分数*：

(i)                   For entry into Postgraduate Courses: 90 overall

攻读研究生课程：总分90

(ii)                 For entry into Undergraduate Courses: 76 overall

攻读本科课程：总分76

(iii)                For entry into Foundation Year Courses or the Junior College: 59 overall

参加预科课程或马大附属中学课程 总分59

• Academic IELTS Certificate 雅思学术证书

a)       The UM will be accepting Academic IELTS certificates which are older than 2 years but not more than 5 years, as long as the overall and individual scores are at the required level.

UM将接受超过2年但不超过5年的雅思学术证书，只要总体和个人分数达到要求的水平即可。

b)       Applicants sitting for the Academic IELTS test may present the following scores*:

参加雅思考试的申请人要按要求出示以下分数*：

(i)                   For entry into Postgraduate Courses: 6.0 overall and 6.0 in the reading and writing components;

攻读研究生课程：总分6.0，读写部分6.0

(ii) For entry into Undergraduate Courses: 5.5 overall, 5.5 in the reading component and 6.0 in writing component

攻读本科课程：总分5.5，阅读部分5.5，写作部分6.0

*In this case, applicants may be required to complete extra English language proficiency study-units offered by the UM in order to fully meet the English Language Requirements. Such units would be delivered at an additional cost to be covered by the student.

*在这种情况下，申请人可能需要完成UM提供的额外英语语言能力学习课程，以便完全满足英语语言要求。这些课程将需要学生支付额外的学习费用。

• IELTS Indicator 雅思成绩

The IELTS Indicator online test is being accepted by UM as an acceptable English Language assessment for admission to courses in October 2020 only. Applicants presenting the following scores will be conditionally accepted subject to sitting for a English Proficiency Test organised by the University's Centre for English Language Proficiency. 

雅思指标在线考试仅在2020年10月作为可接受的英语语言评估被UM录取。申请人如有下列成绩，须参加由大学英语语言能力中心举办的英语能力测试，方可获有条件接纳。 

(i) For entry into Postgraduate Courses: 6.0 overall and 6.0 in the reading and writing components;

研究生课程：总分6.0，读写部分6.0；

(ii) For entry into Undergraduate Courses: 5.5 overall, 5.5 in the reading component and 6.0 in writing component

攻读本科课程：总分5.5，阅读部分5.5，写作部分6.0

Depending on the outcome of the English Proficiency Test, applicants will be required to register and pass in English Language study-unit/s as directed by the Centre for English Language Proficiency.  Such study-units would be delivered at an additional cost to be covered by the student.       

根据英语水平测试的结果，将要求申请人注册并通过英语水平中心的指导下的英语学习课程。这样的学习课程将由学生支付额外的费用。

• Undergraduate qualifications taught in the English Language

以英语授课的本科学历

Applicants applying for entry into postgraduate courses who are in possession of undergraduate qualifications which were taught entirely in English, may be considered to fulfil the UM’s English Language Requirements, provided that they present an official statement from the awarding institution confirming that the language of instruction and assessment throughout the whole course was English.  

申请修读研究生课程的申请人，如持有完全以英文授课的本科学历，可被视为符合大学的英文要求，但须呈交评奖机构的正式声明，确认整个课程的教学及评核语言均为英语。

Secure English Language Test - Normal Requirements

英语语言测试-一般要求

The language of instruction at UM is English. If you have completed your secondary education overseas you are obliged to satisfy UM’s English language requirement by presenting a Secure English Language Test (SELT) result.

大学的教学语言是英语。如果您在海外完成了中等教育，您必须提交一份英语语言测试（SELT）结果，以满足UM的英语语言要求。

Applicants for all postgraduate courses (commencing in October 2014 or later) offered by the Department of English, Faculty of Arts, who are not in possession of a degree deemed comparable, in content and level, to the degrees required in Bye-Law 4, by the Faculty Admissions Committee, must present a SELT result with:

英语系艺术学院开设的所有研究生课程（从2014年10月开始或更晚）的申请人，其学位和水平均不与《 bye-law 4》所要求的水平相当由教务管理委员会提交的SELT结果必须：

either a writing score of 7.5 (or higher) in the writing element and no less than 6.5 in any other element in IELTS,

雅思笔试成绩达到7.5分（或更高），雅思成绩不低于6.5分，

or a writing score of 29 (or higher) in TOEFL (iBT).

或者雅思成绩达到29分（或更高）。托福（iBT）。

Applicants may also present a Cambridge English Proficiency Advanced Certificate at Grade C (or higher).

申请人还可以出示C级（或更高）的剑桥英语水平高级证书。

TOEFL and IELTS score reports will only be valid if issued within 2 years from the date of commencement of the course at UM.

托福和雅思成绩报告仅在自UM课程开始之日起2年内获得的才有效。
